APIA 2009 Conference

The 2009 annual APIA Conference was held in Cairns during October and drew a record number of exhibitors (75 in all) and attendees. In line with its Lead Membership status WDS Limited this year took on a larger stand and maintained its previous level of sponsorship.

APIA's annual event was as usual well organised and allowed good contacts to be made with a cross section of suppliers (local and foreign) and clients involved with all aspects of pipelines.

The two day programme of papers was wide ranging and included a presentation by David Bridge (WDS Systems and Environmental Manager). His excellent presentation, entitled 'Carbon Offset and Its Influence on a Pipeline Construction Project' was well received.

The APIA event, attended by senior management, certainly served to consolidate WDS's leading position in the pipeline industry and in the rapidly expanding coal seam gas industry.
