Mining Division (NSW) - 365 Total Recordable Injury Free Days

On Wednesday 17 March 2010, the WDS Mining NSW Operations were successful in achieving an extraordinary performance of 12 months Total Recordable Injury free with a TRIFR of 0.00. To achieve this result the NSW Operations have worked over 500,000 hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), Disabling Injury (DI) or Medical Treatment Injury (MTI).

Along with achieving this result in itself, WDS has also succeeded in promoting and developing a positive safety culture within our workforce. This culture is evident on site through feedback given from our employees stating that safety is a must and getting injured is preventable and unacceptable.
